Update on my training: Publix Savannah Women’s Half!

The 2nd Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5k is in less than a week, which means that most runners should’ve been training for a while now.

When I’m training for a half or full marathon I usually run 4 times a week: a couple of easy/recovery runs, a speed/tempo run and a long run. I also like adding some yoga and cross-training in the mix to avoid injuries and strengthen different muscles.

I’m so excited that Spring is almost here, and that means that race season is about to start! After running 2 marathons in less than 3 weeks last Fall I’ve taken a break from running but now I’m ready to get back into it and it feels GOOD.

Honestly I haven’t planned my racing schedule for the year yet but the only certain thing in my future is that I’m participating in the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K. Last year I set my half marathon PR on this beautiful race with a time of 1:40:29, which I know it’ll be really hard to beat, especially after taking off over 2 months from running.

Publix Savannah Women’s Half & 5K

For 2015 I have many fitness goals: I want to complete my second Ironman 70.3, I want to run my 6th marathon and I want to race in a few half marathons, among them the inaugural Publix Savannah Women’s Half & 5K, which I’m extremely excited about.

When I first heard about this race I knew I was going to sign up right away. Why? Here’re some of the reasons:
